Experience T_Visionarium OPEN CITY!
On Wednesday 4 November T_Visionarium OPEN CITY has its world premier in the Zuiderkerk in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. T_Visionarium OPEN CITY is an installation on a century of urbanization, in which documentaries, reports, City One Minutes and interviews are offered in a refreshing and three dimensional way.
T_Visionarium is an innovating interface, developed by Jeffrey Shaw from the iCinema Research centre, Peter Weibel of the Zentrum Zentrum für Kunst und Medien in Karlsruhe. The large installation offers visitors a spectacular, new film experience and the possibility to browse through the material and remix it. T_Visionarium OPEN CITY can be visited from 5 - 22 November.

Shaw (1944) is a researcher and an artist who is internationally known as a revolutionary pioneer in the area of new media. Since 2003, he is the director of the iCinema Research Centre, which is connected to the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
Up till now, T_Visionarium had only been seen by an audience in Spain and France with Australian TV fragments as content. The project T_Visionarium OPEN CITY is the next step in the development of this interface, in close cooperation with the research centre iCinema, by the thematic categorisation of the audiovisual database on the theme ‘city’ and by the addition of a extensive register of entries.

T_Visionarium OPEN CITY is an initiative of VPRO’s Age of the City, in cooperation with the 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR): Open City; Designing Coexistence, the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Images of the Future and the iCinema Research Centre. It contains images from the rich archive of VPRO Television, and the Netherlands Institute of Sound and Vision, the One Minutes Foundation and Holland Doc 24.
